Scottish pianist and
composer Stuart Mitchell, currently lives and works in Edinburgh,
Scotland. His most recent classical compositions have been inspired by his
passion for subjects concerning nature and geometry. In 2006, The Rosslyn
Motet, was realized in collaboration with his father Thomas J Mitchell
after 15 years of research and study of the symbolic carvings within the
Rosslyn Chapel.
This project attracted widespread media attention and brought his music to a worldwide audience. His symphonic work of 2003, Seven Wonders Suite for Orchestra, is a regular favorite with Classic FM listeners who have voted this work into the Hall of Fame in 2006 and 2009. Stuart is currently producing parts 2 and 3 of DNA Variations, Earth and Sky. These are due for release in March 2010 and September 2010. |
